    Insect's

Post  Kid on Mon Nov 23, 2009 12:56 pm

In India I talked to the insect's because India is the home for insect's lol!
    and they all told me:
    Spider Say's
    SPIDER
I'm the insect with eight legs,
Which mean's I have six more than you do!
    In some Indian languages,
They call me an eight-legged insect
just because I have eight leg's!
What do you think they'd call you then?

You must have seen cobweb's every where.
That is what spider's live in.
    We spider's build web's everywhere
    Aren't they pretty?
DOn't wish you could make something as lovely as that?

I like to hang on a single thread that I make,
and move all over the place---
From the celling to the floor in no time at all
And I land very safely too!

The web's that we make are very useful
to catch insect's for us to eat.
The thread of the web is so strong,
that it is very difficult for a moth or an ant to escape from it.

    We spider's can be found
    in forest's,cave's,desert's,mountain's,underwater
and of course, in your home!

There are so many different type's of spider-
Crab spider's, wolf spider's huntsman spider's..... there are
    even spitting spider's!
Do you think they spit rudely at people?
Go and meet the grasshopper next.
He always hop's away from me! Ask him why!

    Grasshopper Say's

Post  Kid on Mon Nov 23, 2009 1:25 pm

    GRASSHOPPER

Have you seen me hopping around
in a garden or a park?
I have very special hind leg's with which
    I can jump really far!
    And that is exactly why
    I am called a grasshopper!

These leg's help me to escape from my enemies---
Lizard's spider's(Like the one in the first subject),
Frog's and bird's, who want to eat me!

But I can see and hear very well,
So they cannot always catch me.

Now let me tell you a little secret------
my ear's are usually on my tummy or leg's
scratch Imagine how funny you would look if you had ear's on your leg's too!

Do you know why I am usually brown or green?
    That is because,
if I am green and I sit on the grass or leaf,
    my enemies can't see me!
Great way to hide, isn't it?
I can make a really loud sound by rubbing
My hind leg's together. You would be able to
Hear me even if you were 2 kilometer's away.

    If you listen very carefully!
I make these sound's usually at night in a grave yard or a garden.
Do you know some people in china eat me.

    From Eliot:
do you know I have a grass hopper as a pet in India it is 3 year's old you know how because I was petting a female grasshopper for one day and it lay's only one egg per day so when she laid it I throw her away.
    Do you know
they grow faster than any insect in the world.

You can also write about any insect you know.

    Scorpion Say's

Post  Kid on Mon Nov 23, 2009 3:17 pm

    Scorpion

Just like the spider's I have eight Leg's too.
In fact, I belong to the same family as the spider does -----
    the arachnida family.

Even through I look so frightening
    and Move very ,very fast,
I usually sting only to protect myself.

So stay away from me, and I'II leave you alone!

You will be able to recognize me by my pincer's
that look a bit like those of a crab,
    and my tail,
which is very unusual and is looped over my body.

I can make out when someone is coming near me
by the way the ground vibrates.
So then, I vanish under a stone, or into a crack in the wall.

I sometimes lay just one egg,
but I have laid upto 75 sometimes.
When the babies hatch they climb on to my back
by using my pincers like a ramp!

    People get scared of me,
Because my sting is very painful.

But as I told you before, you don't bother me
and then I won't bother you!

Well the scorpio died and when it died it released some kind of bad smell in the jar too.
The grasshopper layed an egg and I throwed it away now I am not having them I left them in India.
    Do you know!
I got that scorpio when we went to kerala with my family and we fished over there I saw a scorpio but I thought it was a crab so I suddenly throwed the bucket at him which closed it inside I was in 5th I didn't know much about the differenc in a crab nor scorpio.

    Firefly Say's

Post  Kid on Wed Nov 25, 2009 3:13 pm

    Firefly

When the light's go off at night,
imagine a glass bottle full of my friend's
    to light up your room!

    Yes,that's what I can do-
    glow in the dark.
I can switch the glow on or off as I please!
    Like a living torch!

    I am a male and I have wing's,
and I can fly all over.
The female's do not have wing's but they glow too.
They are called glowworm's. (The one I am having in India)

We have a special chemical at the tip of our tummies
which is what glow's in the dark.

    More work under construction.
